MAKE IT BETTER

I am hideously addicted to stumbleupon. I can't get enough of it, there is always something to pick me up. I found this list of one hundred ways to uncomplicate your life. Here are a few of the ones I agree with;

1) Don't try to read peoples minds. I think this is so so true. I was seeing this guy once and came home to my mum moaning about how he never tells me what he's thinking and never talks about anything serious. My mum was so right when she replied, 'Romy, stop trying to suck everything out of people. They will tell you when they are ready to tell you.' How true.

2) Get up 30 minutes earlier than you need to so that you don't have to rush/get a ticket for driving too fast/have to explain why your late/get fired. This is true, in theory. I never go to bed early to wake up earlier than I need to, but nevertheless a good tip.

3) Stick to your budget/start saving and investing every week/balance your checkbook. Not so easy for me, as I have yet to learn the 'value of money', but I'll get there.

4) Don't try to be friends with everyone. Cultivate closer relationships with fewer people. Absolutely true, I value those few girls who I know will always be there when I need them the most, and not just to go out with.

5) Before getting angry, ask yourself if it'll truly matter in 20 years time. It probs won't.

6) Focus on being a good person, not on pleasing others.

7) Stay home this Saturday and finish off that nagging chore you've been meaning to do. I stay home most Saturdays so this one will be easy for me.

8) Kiss and make up. Always, kiss and make up. Unless they really are being a douchebag.

9) Don't drink alcohol when you're tired, angry or sad. C'est vrais, it never helps.

10) Say “I love you” to your significant other and to your children. Studies show that more marriages last, and fewer kids use drugs, when these words are spoken every day. That's so lovely. 


11) When you have a conflict with someone, talk it out. Don’t let it turn into more than it is.


12) If you're holding on to a ridiculous grudge, let it go. I learnt this a while ago, it's so hard, but so worth it. 


13) Don't eat when you aren't hungry, eat when you are. Everything in moderation, nothing in excess. 


14) Never go to sleep angry. Lately I've been angry quite a lot and I haven't slept well at all, so this deffo applies to me. 


15) Return emails and phone messages promptly. Ahhhh I can't express how much it aggravates me when you 
text someone and they don't reply for DAYS. It takes less than a minute to answer my text. Just DO it. 


16) Forgive and forget. End of story. 


17) Let go of perfection in others. Yes, that's right, sometimes we make mistakes. Sometimes we're sorry for them. Sometimes they're the best things we could've done. Its about knowing the difference.


18) Stretch every day.


19) If a relationship is over, let it go.
