CARBON BLACK
Hyper-realist artist JKB Fletcher is a fine artist living in Melbourne, Australia. I really do admire his talent. These are four paintings from his collection; In The Flesh.

I think they're so sexy.

FUNFAIR
On Monday, Liza Megan Tal and I went to the Hampstead funfair that they have every year. I honestly can't remember the last time I laughed so hard my tummy hurt! My sister is a major wimp when it comes to fairground rides; she's the bag-holder and has been for the majority of her adult life - with the exception of someone taking pity and going on the kiddy train with her. So, to get her in the mood and her adrenaline pumping a bit we decided we'd take her on The Whip first, which is basically a circular booth with a bar over your lap that gets spun round, manually, by crazy fairground men who like to see people scream and cry with fear. It goes up and down as well.
All I could hear the whole time, whilst burying myself into my sister, was; "Fuck OFF! Fuuuckkk OFF!!! It never FUCKING STOPS!! Waaaahhhh!!!!! FUCK OFF!!!"
The fairground men obviously had no empathy towards four screaming girls.
Tal and I skipped the next ride, as it was an upside down one and I don't believe that I was built to defy gravity like that but soon enough we were on the Dodgems. Now, Tal is a good driver - she's been learning for long enough. She's also reasonably moral, so when we looked around and saw the majority of the other drivers were aged 5-10, Tal said outright; "I can't hit small children, I'll just aim for Liza and Megan" and I agreed with her, you can't ram into a 5 year old girl, not with her parents watching at least. As soon as that buzzer rang though, the story changed. Those tiny kids had it out for us! They were on a fucking mission to, if not kill, critically injure us which flipped a switch in Tal. From that point on, Tal made it her sole purpose in life to bring these babies down.

MOVEMENT
Tal had a photography project where she had to study the body in movement; the tension in the muscles etc. So she took a couple of photo's of me running around and leaping all over the place.
MEMORIES
I've spent the last couple of hours rooting through my entire photo collection on my computer. I've laughed at forgotten funny memories, gasped at embarrassing pictures and sighed at photos I should probably have deleted around 2 or 3 years ago. Let me share some memories...
Ahh....Cape Town.

One summer in Italy, Spain and Israel
Hairspray movie night - I don't know what possessed us to dress up :s

NAILS II
Last week, a lovely guy told me he liked the nail art I had done on a previous post (in the February folder). This inspired me to do a couple more and root out some I had done a while ago that I never got round to uploading.
Gradient nails were sooo hard, I used a sponge to get the colours to blend a bit better.
These are a copy of the Giles Deacon Eek nails done by Sophy Robson, really simple but super cute.
AUDREY
"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles." - Audrey Hepburn

17
My sister has invaded the flat this weekend, the mother is away so I was looking forward to some bonding time, just chilling out and taking full advantage of the park. However, as soon as the sun goes down the confines of my living room seem to become a pre-party or late night chill area for whomever she pleases. So - I have escaped to comfort of my room; a bit of Marvin Gaye, Tripping Lily and The Knocks and of course my beloved StumbleUpon.
This is Alex Stoddard and he is utterly incredible. His creativity is beyond my understanding. He has this thing called the '365 Project', which is shooting and sharing one photograph every day. He is 17 years old.

Wahhhhh - He makes me want to get up and do something with my life.

Travis Barker + Tinie Tempah = Guaranteed good time.
Two of my 'If only' men combined with some serious girl power.

ODE TO KISSING
I have decided that, looking back on my teendome and the nights of running around on fields with two Smirnoff Ice's in my system till ooh....around 11.30pm latest, they were not prolonged enough. And I think this mostly because the best part about it was kissing. We used to get SO excited, we would plan (and shotgun) on at least wednesday or thursday who we were all going to kiss that Saturday night. My tummy would be in knots with excitement and anxiety; would I need an extra Strongbow in my system to pluck up the courage? Is my Sticky-eye look down to perfection? And if so, and we do all get that kiss, was it worth spending days and days analyzing every moment leading up to it and then afterwards. Do I text him? Do I wait until he texts me? How long do I wait before I know its ok to plan to kiss someone else without being branded as a 'Mouth Whore'?
I feel like now there is no dramatic build up to that one thing that brings two people over the line of hopeful flirtation and into the realm of possible intimacy. A kiss. Now, a kiss is worth what a hand-hold used to be in comparison. I'm not saying I want to retract every experience with every boyfriend, but I would love that 15 year old 'Fuck, I hope he kisses me' excitement. Give me the butterflies.
