SHIMMY SHIMMY YA

Alriiighty - Here are some updates on my life from the past week or so.

Purchases:
Bought these bad boys on ASOS - imitation of the Chloe Sevigny buckle boots for Opening Ceremony.

Nails:

These last ones I got done professionally by this lovely lady in Camden market called Pinkita. She used to work at WAH Nails but decided to pack up and start on her own, specializing not just in manicures but in actual nail art. I really recommend going to see her; she worked quickly and the results were worth it, she's also really lovely. The prices aren't WAH standard which is a bonus too. Her stall is directly opposite the entrance to Proud Galleries.

Nottingham:
Liza and I went to Nottingham for Megan's birthday. After going out for a drink and a dance we all decided to play hide and seek in her halls - and not just her block - all of them. Liza got in a washing machine and Megan (under a whole lot of influence) pulled the fire alarm. This, of course, led to everyone in her halls having to come outside at 4am - they were not best pleased.

Liza's Birthday:
Liza is my oldest friend. She came to my primary school in year 3 and we have been friends ever since (minus part of year 7 - we'll call that a lovers tiff, and the only fight we've ever had). It honestly warms my heart to know I have a friend like Liza - she has been my rock through absolutely everything; new relationships, hard break ups, drunken experiences, divorce and more. Liz, like I said to you; we celebrated 10 years old and now 20 years old - I know in my heart, they are two out of many decades of birthdays we will celebrate together. Love you x

X-MEN First Class:
My dad has a lovely friend who is a freelance journalist and she gets tickets to previews and all that. Fortunately for Tal and I, she couldn't make it to the X-Men First Class preview tonight so she generously gave us her tickets. It was a lot better than I expected. Not only is every single guy in the film incredibly attractive but it was funny and heart-warming and scary and exciting and just really worth seeing. The only disappointment was, strangely, January Jones. I love her - I think she's beautiful and a talented actress; she was just completely lacking in this performance though.

LOVE SEX MAGIC

I honestly don't see any point to Beyonce's new song - Run The World; she should have left the original alone. However, I am a die hard Sasha Fierce fanatic and I think that Beyonce is truly one of the most beautiful women in the whole fricking world. In this video she looks amaaaazing, Tal and I are going to fashion an imitation of the yellow split leg dress she wears (obvy never wear it outside the confines of our bedrooms as to not scare small children) and we're learning the whole dance routine. No joke.

ROMANIA

Alexandra Stan is a 21 year old girl from Romania. She's had a couple of singles out there but her song 'Mr.Saxobeat' has been brought over to the UK and it's receiving some positive feedback. I mean, look at the youtube comments;
"I would do her until she bled."
"I wouldn't leave my bed ever if she was in it."
"I didn't even notice there was music until there was a shot of all men."
"I am melting watching her."
"I stopped my porn for this."

Is she really that hot?! She looks pretty average to me, she's got a great body but she's nothing spesh?

TRUTHS

I saw this online and I thought it was quite sweet. Some of the statements I can relate directly to and they made me smile :)

1. I think part of a best friends job is to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than the moment in an argument when you realize you are wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times when I was younger and didn't want to nap.

4. There is a great need for a 'sarcasm' font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person actually died.

7. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

8. Bad decisions make good stories.

9. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive with the rest of your day.

10. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I didn't make any changes to...

11. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring but when I immediately call back it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

12. I hate leaving my house confident and feeling like I look good and then not seeing anyone of importance the whole day. What a waste.

13. I keep people's numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

14. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what was happening when I first saw it.

15. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

16. How many times is it appropriate to say 'what?' before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they just said?

17. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you're going to die when you lean a little too far back in your chair.

18. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their mobile phone and pinning the tail on the donkey - but I'd bet anything that everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, everytime...

MARVEL

On the weekend Tal and I spent some time wondering around Camden market, buying little things and eating copious amounts of noodles.

Tal's scarf is from Mercy Delta, a company she designs for. If you wna have a look at the other stuff she's doing:
or

We came across this really cute vintage stall called SpankT VinTage. It has such nice things; we got skirts and shorts and shirts and hair bows and everything is £20 and under. The woman was telling us all the stuff is from the 50's up and she has another store on Brick Lane so check 'em out :)

50's lilac midi skirt was such a bargain

LITA

I bought the Jeffrey Campbell Lita's in Taupe Suede today. Well - to be honest, I took a loan from my dad because I don't have the money right now and I told him that it was imperative to my life to have them asap (I gave my best my life depends on this face) so he  took pity on me.
AHHHH they're coming!!!! Jealous?

JAR OF HEARTS

I used to love fine art class back in senior school; just sitting down with my ipod plugged in and drawing for two hours straight. Everything time I think about it I have the urge to get out a sketch pad and doodle.

I drew this with pencil - you can't really see the detail because the picture isn't great quality. I found the original image online (just google 1914 Great War map) It's basically a map of Europe, giving each country an animal characateur i.e. England as a lion, France as a boar and Russia as a bear.

This is a drawing I did in black pen only. I honestly can't remember the name of the artist but their original image was far more detailed than mine; the pen I had was too thick for all the detail.

I did this drawing quite quickly actually, its pencil only. Again - as its only fair - I really need to start writing down the artists names of the drawings that inspire me. The image above was inspired by a pencil drawing of an African lady in a head dress I saw on Google.

None of these drawings are exact copies of the originals, I've added my own touches, taken away details and changed things I don't like etc, but they're pretty much similar to the originals. I hope ya like 'em :)

FAWN FANCY

Urghhhhh - My friend Sylva has just officially ruined my life by showing me the utter goddess that is Felice Fawn. She is so hot - to the point where it makes me feel inadequate. I just don't understand how one girl can be born with an amazing figure, a beautiful face and also be so fricking COOL. I now have to completely readdress my wardrobe, diet and lifestyle in order to match her. If you see me stumbling around with black crosses painted on my boobs and my nose pierced like a bull you'll know exactly what is going on:

Arghhh she's so hot I can't handle it.

SWEAT

I saw this the other day and I thought it was quite good for a cover song. Little Eye are a five piece 'power-pop' band, formed last year by Allan Sieczkowski and are all from Glasgow. Their debut album is set to be released summer 2011.

To be honest, I'm not really that bothered about their music, it's alright - It's his bloody accent that I can't stop playing it for! I mean, I know Ewan McGregor and Paolo Nutini have sexy kilt-land accents but I find this guys voice sooo attractive.
Here are some pictures of some other attractive things:
