CULTS

United Arrows is a brand from Tokyo, Japan. Here they have collaborated with 55 DSL to come up with three limited edition t-shirts. I'm not sure if people will get the images but in case you don't; the prints are meant to be Terry Richardson, Andy Warhol and Woody Allen. I WANT ALL THREE. 

Speaking of Terry Richardson, he has just photographed Abbey Lee Kershaw for Moussy F/W 2011. I have expressed my undying love for Abbey before and here's yet another example of why:

DEMONS

I don't know how I came across it but I was reading up on and then eventually sitting through 'Repo! The Genetic Opera', a horror/rock opera musical film that came out in 2008. It's opening was tiny, only showing on 7 screens in the US but quickly became a cult film. Oh, it was directed by the same guy who did the Saw films.
The plot revolves around how in the future the world suffers an organ failure epidemic; everyone is dying and no-one can afford the transplant operations. However, GeneCo, a multi-billion dollar biotech company come up with the agreement that they will finance your transplant, so long as you eventually repay the money. Clients who are behind on payments willl suffer the wrath of the Organ Repo Man - a man legally hired to claim back what belongs to GeneCo. The twist in the story is that Repo Man has, in fact, got a heart. He lost his wife at the birth of his daughter and promised to protect her from the devastating world she had been brought in to. Naturally, the best way to do that is to plant a blood disease in her system so she has to stay indoors at all times. 17 years have now passed and his little girl, Shilo, still doesn't know the truth - until she has an encounter with her mother's old best friend, a blind opera singer, thus quenching her thirst for freedom and, obviously, the truth. There is loads of singing going on at all times as well. The cast is reasonably well known: Paul Sorvino, Paris Hilton, Alexa Vega, Anthony Head and Sarah Brightman.

VACATION

I am leaving to join Sylva in Skiathos on Wednesday morning - my flight is at 8.20am. Wahhhh. Excluding that fact I am beyond excited. I literally cannot wait to tan all day/party all night. I am so excited that I am even going to start packing now - I've made a happy playlist that I've had on repeat all morning and I cannot get enough of it. I don't think I've mentioned that I have a new boy. He is lovely.

BLACK HOLE

I've only ever put up one editorial of Emma Watson on my blog before because frankly she annoys the shit out of me. You're hair, Emma. You're poor, poor hair. I know you want people to see you as more 'edgy' and an actress with higher capabilities than you displayed in Harry P. but you look like a ten year old boy.
Having said that, I cannot deny her this;  i-D Pre-Fall 2011. Bloody gorgeous.

Not many know the daughter of the late Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love - Francis Bean. She stays out of the limelight and it's done her good. As it happens she has the best of both parents; she's dark, brooding and covered in tattoos. Her large eyes and pretty pout contrast perfectly and give her a sense of coyness.

Here's something I never thought I'd see; Kristen Stewart - acting. She's not doing a terrible job either and seems to be enjoying it. It might be her best work since Panic Room - though all she had to do in that was cry a lot and get stabbed with an EpiPen.

ELEPHANT GUN

I am completely obsessed with Jason Jean. His website Citizen Couture is really worth checking out if, like me, you drool all over the Sartorialist and LookBook.  Jean was a tax professional who decided to turn to freelance photography. Whilst he was working in accounting he was diagnosed with juvenile glaucoma and became partially blind which boosted an urge to explore his creative side that he says was 'suppressed at childhood'. He started photography in mid 2008 and became infatuated with style and fashion.
Citizen Couture was established just after New York fashion week in 2009 - a website that focused on "exploring and capturing fashion inspirations at major fashion cities/events while globally reaching out to other creative communities."

Look at how fucking cool he is:

A few random, interesting, and quirky facts about myself:

1) I am an American-born Taiwanese raised in New York. My last name is a phonetic translation to German that was passed over when my uncle lived abroad.

2) I grew up writing left-handed but at a young age my parents taught me to use my right instead. I currently define myself as selective ambidextrous, switching hands for certain tasks based on comfort.

3) I carried a sketchbook up until high school, feverishly drawing anything from comic book characters to simple portraits. Sometimes I would simultaneously draw with one hand and color with the other. - (come on, that is too effing cool.)

4) While I love fashion and style, I must admit that I can be a little of a geek at times; probably because of my financial background. I’m an analytical person who happens to be technological savvy with intermediate computer/web programming and accounting knowledge (how exciting, eh?).

5) I have a habit of asking friends to autograph favorite photos that I take. I find each individual signature unique which creates a sentimental and timeless value to the photos.

DAT NEW NEW

Here we have three new songs with their brand spanking new videos; Rizzle Kicks, the marvelous Lady G. and a banging new tune from Kanye West and Jay-Z.

Rizzle Kicks - AKA Jordan 'Rizzle' Stevens and Harley 'Sylvester' Alexander-Sule, are two of the latest exports from the BRIT school. Originally both from Brighton, they formed the duo in 2008. I love how their stuff is fresh and new yet they have such a massive old school hip hop feel in their music. Have a listen to Prophet (Better watch it) and Miss Cigarette. I am so in love with Rizzle it actually hurts my heart.

Lady Gaga, in my opinion, is a creative genius. No matter how ridiculous, controversial or just plain crazy she is her ideas are always more inventive and artistic than anything we've seen in a while. In this song she attacks a love of hers that seems to be conflicting her heart; she loves him so much, regardless of his alcoholism and...fetish for mermaids? In the video she has given herself a male alter-ego, by the name of  'Jo Calderone'. I don't really know what to make of him, she doesn't make a half bad Nebraskan badass though.

Kanye West and Jay-Z's new album - Watch The Throne, is not one to miss out on. I mean it, it's fucking good. This is the first single off of the record, entitled 'Otis' - obviously because of it's sweet Otis Redding sampling. The video is just as slick as the song; its just Kanye and Jay-Z running around having a fucking good time.

CLOSING TIME

I am ashamed to admit that I am a sucker for those cringey articles in magazines, both men's and women's, about  'What we wish they knew...' I can't help it. They make me laugh and I'm also such a fucking helpless romantic that I can relate to almost every point. Yes, I do wish you were psychic and knew when I was having a fat day. I also wish that you carried around a ziplock bag with my favourite sweets in your pocket at all times. Instinctual things, you know. I have combined all of my most desired points from all of these sex/relationship wishlists and compiled my own little check list of what I wish my man knew:

If you lie to me and I find out, I will most probably leave you - you sneaky shit. I will also admit that I will probably be overly forgiving towards you, because you're obliged to say nice things to me and if I do leave you I will hear less of it. So if I do leave you, you know you've really screwed that one up. You look sexy in those two-tone baseball shirts, like the ones Paolo Nutini used to wear. Oh, and hooded clothing. (Not tracksuit jumpers, but other hooded garments)
If I am having sex with you then I will most definitely be convinced that I am pregnant for a minimum of 72 hours before my period. I have no reason to think so, but I do.
In no way, state or form is 'fine' an adequate response when questioned on how I look.
I will always expect you to call me, so don't bother waiting for me to call. If you have done something to annoy, aggravate or piss me off in the slightest and I act like I'm cool with it, I can guarantee that I am not. I'm holding it in for future ammunition. 
Your shoes say a lot to me about who you are. If I am moaning about my tummy being too big, do not tell me you think it is 'cute' or 'sexy' because it is, in fact, my tummy and I am aware that it is neither or those. Just kiss me or something. 
If you want to ask me out you have to be direct. I won't respond to you accidentally calling me your girlfriend on the phone to your friend. Until you ask me, I am a free agent baby.
I want to be Beyonce. I want you to support that.
I need to know how you feel about me, often. Discussions of ex-girlfriends should please be avoided. I have no interest in what she did to break your heart, let me concentrate on putting it back together.
Cheating. It is definitely cheating as soon as you are doing something with her that you wouldn't do if I was there. Under every circumstance. I would rather you leave me than cheat on me.
Oh, and as I am a girl, obviously I am a psycho. I keep a constant lid on it but every now and then it slides off. Be patient with me. I am only trying to force you to love me.

SOMEBODY NEW

I have always been a fan of Robyn. I think she's madly sexy in a crazy, androgynous nymph-like way. Her new song, Call Your Girlfriend, is amaaaaazing, I've had it on repeat and am in the process of learning the dance routine.

She is fucking cool.
